About Me

My photo
I am retired and photography is one of my hobbies. I do not have a specific subject, just anything that strikes my eye. I strive to capture the mood in which I see the subject. Enjoy my work, and, of course, comments would be appreciated. For more of my blogs click on the link below.

Birds of Brazil

Great Kiskadee
All of the following photographs are taken in various locations in Brazil, they are all wild birds which I had the good fortune to see and photograph.

 Southern Lapwing

Toucan

Brazilian Robin

Burrowing Owl

Campo Flicker

Black Swans in the Parque do Ibirapuera, Sao Paulo's most famous park, verys similar to our High Park in Toronto.
This raptor is called a Crested Caracara and feasts on small animals and snakes during the harvesting of sugar cane.  The harvesting of sugar cane is a continuous process as they stagger the planting because it take one year to grow to full height.

Guira Cuckoo

 Parakeets

 Sayaca Tanager

The above birds I was unable to identify, they were photographed in Foz do Iguacu.

Unknown waterfowl photographed in the Pargque do Ibirapuera, Sao Paulo.
 Whistling Heron

All of the following bird photographs are taken in a Bird Park in Foz do Iguacu.  The averies were quite large and you walked amonst the birds.  Photographing these was a real challenge because there was so many to choose from.
